I’m Dr. Amber Miles, a licensed psychologist in Texas. I earned my Doctorate in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and my Bachelor’s from UCLA. My training includes a post-doctoral fellowship in psychiatric rehabilitation and serious mental illness with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Colorado, as well as in-depth psychodynamic training at a level one trauma center in New York and a private hospital in Washington, D.C. After training and working across the country, I opened my therapy practice in Houston.
With expertise in complex mental health challenges, I support teens and adults managing a wide range of concerns—from everyday stressors and relationship struggles to more serious mental health challenges. My experience spans inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Outside of private practice, I also work on an inpatient mental health unit in the Texas Medical Center and participate in the training and supervision of pre-doctoral psychology students.
Having lived and trained in multiple states, I have a deep appreciation for the variety of life experiences and perspectives that shape who we are. People of all backgrounds, identities, sexual orientations, and belief systems are welcome in my office.
Therapy should feel like a space you can look forward to—where you can be yourself, feel understood, and leave each session a little lighter, more confident, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges.
